The Utah Council of the Blind invites you to join us for an empowering and exciting event: Thriving Through Action State Training Conference. This year’s conference is designed to inspire, connect, and motivate blind and visually impaired individuals across the state of Utah.
At this conference you’ll have the opportunity to hear from inspiring individuals who are blind and have achieved great things in various fields. Our speakers include passionate bikers, skilled rock climbers, talented chefs, creative gamers, and more. These remarkable individuals will share their stories, strategies, and experiences that showcase how blindness is not a barrier, but a catalyst for extraordinary accomplishments.
But that’s not all! Beyond listening to these powerful presentations, you’ll have the chance to experience these activities firsthand. Whether you’re interested in trying out adaptive biking, feeling the thrill of rock climbing, experimenting in the kitchen, or exploring accessible gaming, this event is designed to show you that possibilities are endless.
Don’t miss out on this chance to connect, learn, thrive, and try something new. Together, we’ll explore new horizons and celebrate the strength and potential within each of us.
To make your reservation for the conference call the Utah Council of the Blind office 801 245-9264 Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All reservations must be made and paid in full by October 25, 2024.

We will be having a boutique at the annual holiday party December 7 (Saturday). I know it takes time to make crafts, so I hope I have given you enough time to get those crafts made. Ray Wright will be selling his beautiful ballpoint pens and some kitchen items this year. Kira will be selling her wonderful bracelets that are so colorful and homemade cards plus other wonderful things.
Ceramics class members will be selling the fantastic things they made. When you purchase a table, you will oversee your money, setting up your own table and taking it down (or at least your merchandise), and please bring someone with you to help you to set up. There will be a UCB table with many gift ideas that you can buy. Kate has outdone herself this year with some great buys for all. Do not wait – reserve now. UCB members the tables will be $5, and nonmembers will be $10. Please call the UCB office and reserve.
