Our Easter Basket Fundraiser is underway. It's bigger and better with many really nice donated items. Order your baskets by Monday, April 7th, and pick them up on Saturday, April 12th, at the Blind Center.
Small baskets are $15, medium baskets are $30, and large baskets are $60. Our baskets beat the store baskets out of the park. Plus 100% of the proceeds go to direct services for the blind. Tell your family, neighbors, co-workers. The baskets will be available for pick up at the UCB and Legacy Pioneers Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12th, from 10 am - 1 pm. If you live near Logan, Ogden, Orem/Provo, Ephraim, Cedar City, or St. George you have this same opportunity to purchase these lovely baskets. The UCB will ship the items in a priority box mailer directly to your home. All you need to do is arrange the items into your own Easter Basket. Please specify if the basket will be for a toddler, child, teen, or adult, and the gender. We have items to fill the baskets for everyone. On behalf of the UCB and all the wonderful donations from local stores, corporations, and individuals, we thank you. So don't hesitate to support this awesome fundraising event. Call the office at 801-245-9264 to order yours.

Thank you, Stop the Bleed, for an Informative and life-saving presentation!
The Utah Council of the Blind would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Stop the Bleed for their incredible presentation at our recent activity. Their team provided valuable training on how to respond effectively in an emergency, equipping us with the skills to control bleeding and potentially save lives.
The hands-on demonstration helped attendees understand the importance of acting quickly and confidently in critical situations. From learning how to apply direct pressure to using tourniquets correctly, the session was both engaging and empowering. It was inspiring to see how simple techniques can make a significant difference in an emergency.
We appreciate Stop the Bleed’s commitment to community education and their willingness to share this essential knowledge with us. Their dedication to public safety aligns perfectly with our mission to ensure that people of all abilities have access to life-saving skills.
Once again, thank you, Stop the Bleed, for your time, expertise, and generosity. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from you and look forward to future collaborations!
Anna Jeffery
This particular presentation is to get people who are low vision and blind familiar with the different ways in which pills can be identified. Our speaker, Sharla Glass, who has worked for Envision America the last 20 years has experience when it comes to helping blind and low vision folk learn about the many ways of identification. Please allow Sharla to give her speech and afterwords we’ll leave plenty of time for questions. One question per person as we may have a lot of people.
